Join us for the amazing experience of seeing the sunrise from the highest point in the UK on the longest day of 2020.
This is a truly memorable night walk where we will ascend the mountain track in darkness by torchlight with your experienced guides. We will carefully ascend at a slow pace, it is in the dark after all, aiming to be on the summit by 0400, to await the sunrise at about 0430. We will celebrate the solstice with a wee dram of Malt Whisky or a mug of hot chocolate.
We will descend by the same route, returning to the car park for about 0830.
Please note that the weather conditions are outwith our control and in the event of low cloud or other poor visibility, seeing the sunrise may not be possible.
It is not uncommon for there still to be snow patches on the summit plateau at this time of year. Please bring warm clothing (even in midsummer the temperature will be around zero degrees centigrade), waterproofs, gloves and a hat, sufficient food & water for a 10 hour walk and remember a head torch with spare batteries for the ascent.
Saturday 20th June 2020, meeting at 2300 at the Glen Nevis Visitor Centre car park, Glen Nevis, Fort William, PH33 6PF for a briefing and kit check.
