An Teallach and Beinn Dearg four

Skill level
Challenging - For experienced walkers only
Grade 2

Based in the Ullapool area we will tackle what many believe to be the grandest of all UK mountains, An Teallach. This is an 18 km day which will take between 8 and 10 hours to complete on tough terrain with exposure and sustained scrambling across the pinnacles to Sgurr Fiona. An unforgettable experience, highly recommended.

Our second day will see us tackle the four Munros of the Beinn Dearg circuit. This is a 27 km traverse of the four Munros, Cona Mheall, Meall nan Ceapraichean, Eididh nan Geala and Beinn Dearg itself. This circuit will take between 9 and 12 hours to complete and is a long day but the terrain is significantly easier than An Teallach.

We will decide on the order of these two days when we know the likely weather forecast, with An Teallach being our main objective. We want to save the best weather possible for this amazing day.

We will meet at 0830 in the large car park on the A835 at the Braemore junction with the A832 on Saturday morning before heading to our chosen hill, depending on the weather forecast.

There are several Hotels and B&B's in Ullapool along with a SYHA.

Ullapool is served by Citylink buses from Edinburgh and Glasgow via Inverness.
