Aonach Eagach ridge, Glencoe

Skill level
Very challenging - Previous experience on challenging walks essential
Grade 2

A classic ridge walk, not to be missed. Possibly the narrowest ridge on the UK mainland and definitely a day to remember traversing high above Glencoe on the crazy pinnacles. An exhilarating and special day taking in the two Munros of Sgorr nam Fiannaidh and Meall Dearg on route.

This is a challenging walk with sustained, exposed, Grade 1 to 2 scrambling across about 1 km of ridge. The entire day will take between 6 and 8 hours to complete. Before tackling this route, it is highly recommended that you have experience of other ridge walks and be comfortable with exposure.

We will meet at 0830 at the car park of the Clachaig Inn, Glencoe, PH49 4HX before placing a vehicle at the finish point and then driving to the start at Allt-na-Ruigh

In the event of inclement weather where safety is compromised, an alternative scramble in Glencoe will be substituted.

There are a large variety of accommodation options available in nearby Glencoe with the Clachaig nearby Red Squirrel Campsite as well as B&B's, the private Glencoe hostel and the Glencoe SYHA.
