Torridon Giants

Skill level
Challenging - For experienced walkers only
Grade 2

Torridon is another of those magical areas of Scotland that just have to be visited, seeing this landscape will take your breath away. It's a Mecca for hillwalkers with its magnificent sandstone peaks rising out of the sea. The views are amazing, the memories will last a lifetime but it'll make you want to come back, again and again.

These will be challenging, memorable walks where some grade 1 scrambling may be involved, with exposure, (depending on the hills walked) in amongst the Torridon giants. You will need to have a reasonable level of fitness for this walk and a head for heights and exposure.

We will tackle some of the iconic peaks of the area and depending on the weather, will look at Liathach (Scotland's finest mountain?), Beinn Alligin, Ben Eighe, Slioch and some of the lesser known but just as impressive in Beinn Liath Mhor and Sgorr Ruadh or Moruisg.

Choice of accommodation is yours. There's the Torridon Hotel, a free campsite is available beside the Youth Hostel which also has access to free toilets and showers (donations are welcomed) - use my discount code King-19 for 10% off - or local B&Bs including Tighloran

We will meet at 0900 in the car park outside the Torridon Visitor Centre (opposite the campsite) each morning to begin the walk unless otherwise agreed. If the weather means group safety on these rugged and unforgiving mountains will be compromised, alternative walks will be arranged.

Ideally we would organise car share in advance to minimise our environmental impact.

Cost is only £100 per person (maximum group size is 8) Book early to avoid disappointment. These weekends are usually extremely popular.
