The qualification meets the Outdoor First Aid Band 3 requirements set by the Institute for Outdoor Learning and the requirements for the first aid element of the expedition syllabus for the bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh awards. The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement.
The course will, as much as the weather allows, be delivered outdoors to better replicate the expected environment. The group size is limited to 8 students to ensure covid safety.

The course will provide learners with the skills and knowledge to respond to a range of emergency outdoor situations including summoning assistance, responding to changes in vital signs, administering CPR and blood loss. This course is designed for those who attend or are involved in sporting events in any capacity. This includes coaches, managers, referees, players, spectators and any other involved adult. This course provides learners with guidance on catastrophic bleeding control, including dealing with the inherent dangers associated with the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering First Aid in a high-risk working environment. This course is designed for pre school/school environments, catering and leisure industries as well as families with members who are at risk of an attack.
